carbon footprint of war

At Sweden's Tallberg Forum in July this year, I pointed out the elephant in the room in all the discussions on global warming and climate crisis - the impact of Empire, and its machinery of industrial warfare.

What is the carbon footprint of the 250,000 bombs exploded on the Iraqi people by the US and its NATO allies? The uprooting of 1.5 million trees by Israel in its ongoing brutal military occupation of Palestine?

Finally, someone has come up with a brilliant and long-needed quantitative analysis of what war actually contributes to global warming - Steve Kretzmann of Oil Change International. Read it here.
